Temple Beth El was established as the first Liberal congregation in Rockland County.

Specialties

We are a warm, caring, and friendly Reform synagogue community. We offer Jewish education for all ages: Early Childhood Center including Universal PreK, Religious School (PreK-12th grade), and a variety of adult educational programming. We have youth groups for all ages, active Men's Club and WRJ (Women of Reform Judaism) chapters, and plenty of other enriching activities to keep our members active and connected with one another. Our clergy (rabbi and cantor) are dynamic, energetic, and engaging. Worship services are appropriate for all ages. Regular Erev Shabbat worship begins at 7:30 pm, and holidays are always a special treat. Check our website for a full list of worship services and time and a list of activities. Our doors are always open, so please don't hesitate to join us! We would welcome you as members of our growing community.

Sadly, this beautiful synagogue is now closed. I was married there in 1977. It was a lovely wedding, fabulous flat kosher food -- a scene out of "Goodbye, Columbus".
