Susan Ann Scavo, MD

Dr. Aladine A. Elsamadicy is an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery in the Department of Neurosurgery at Donald and Barbra Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell Health. He completed his undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University, where he studied biomedical engineering and mathematics, and was awarded Vanderbilt Top 10 Outstanding Seniors Award. He completed his medical degree at the Duke University School of Medicine where he developed his passion for Neurosurgery and Spine. Dr. Elsamadicy was a Feagin Leadership Scholar and received multiple research awards including the Eugen A. Stead, Jr. Research Scholarship and the B.W. Stiles Scholarship. Dr. Elsamadicy completed his neurosurgery residency at the Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was awarded with the Dennis D. Spencer Award in Academic Achievement, the Resident Teaching Award, and the Paul Kalanithi Award. Before he completed his training, he completed a Pediatric Spine Deformity Fellowship at Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and later served as Chief Resident for the Department of Neurosurgery. Dr. Elsamadicy has published over 250 peer-reviewed publications mostly focused on clinical outcomes research in Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery. Given his work, he was recognized by the North American Spine Society (NASS) 20 Under 40. To Dr. Elsamadicy, the most gratifying part of his profession is the ability to provide meaningful connections with his patients and improve their quality of life through skilled-surgical approaches to the spine. Dr. Elsamadicy currently works in the Northwell Health Department of Neurosurgery at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he focuses on treatment of patients with spinal disorders, including spine deformity, scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, cervical/thoracic spinal cord stenosis, myelopathy, spine fractures and more.

Dr. Daniel G. Eichberg is an assistant professor of neurosurgery in the Department of Neurosurgery at Northwell Health. He completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University, where he developed his interest in oncology and neuroscience. He completed his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine where he graduated magna cum laude, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society. Dr. Eichberg was awarded the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute research fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology investigating therapies for brain tumors.Dr. Eichberg completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of Miami, where he was selected for the National Institutes of Health T32 grant and the Neurosurgery Research and Education Foundation Research Fellowship Grant for glioblastoma research. Before he completed his training, he served as Chief Resident for the Department of Neurosurgery. Dr. Eichberg also completed a Neurosurgical Oncology fellowship at the University of Miami, focused on minimally invasive brain tumor surgery techniques.Dr. Eichberg has published over 130 peer-reviewed publications focused on the clinical, translational, and basic science of brain tumor biology and surgical treatment.To me, the most gratifying part of my profession is the meaningful connections I make with my patients, and to see them healthy and feeling better after surgery, he says.
