Stissing Theatre Guild

The Stissing Theatre Guild, established in 1989, is a non-profit organization based in Pine Plains, NY, dedicated to promoting and nurturing a love for musical theater. With the support of the Pine Plains Central School District and the Teachers Union, the guild has been producing shows annually, except for the Covid years, and expanded to include plays presented at the Stissing Center in 2019.

Through the sale of tickets, program advertising, and fundraising efforts, the guild covers production costs, including royalties, set design, lighting, costumes, props, and professional musicians for the live pit band. With the involvement of an Advisory Board and the support of parents, teachers, and community volunteers, the guild provides students in the district with valuable theatrical experiences, fostering teamwork and inspiring some to pursue careers in various aspects of the performing arts.
