Established in 1782, The Stissing House is a restaurant that provides a variety of food options for guests. It serves mussels, crab cakes, salads, soups, fried artichokes, pizzas and french fries. The restaurant offers saut ed baby spinach, mashed potatoes, sprouts, burgers, pork chops and grilled duck breasts. It has hosted visiting dignitaries and locals for private dinners, politicians for election debates. The Stissing House is managed by French-American restauranteurs, Michel & Patricia Jean. Its menu changes seasonally and restaurant strives to serve local produce, dairy and meats according to availability- also has a wood burning oven and grill. The Stissing House is located in Pine Plains, N.Y.

Incredible -- very worthy of all the hype, and worth the hike. The bread/butter, scallops, squash/hot peppers, little green salad, chicken, and halibut were all perfect. I'd order all of these...

Amazing, worth the 2 hour drive for this any day of the week. Had a bit of a slow start, the staff maybe was overwhelmed, but they made up for it and more by their service and generosity....
