Steepletop, located in Austerlitz, NY, is the former home of renowned poet Edna St. Vincent Millay. The property serves as a historic landmark, preserving the memory and creative legacy of the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet. Visitors can explore the house, which dates back to Millay's birth year of 1892, and discover the simplicity of a New England farmhouse where the poet lived and worked.

Surrounded by 700 acres of picturesque landscapes, Steepletop features gardens meticulously designed and tended to by Millay herself. These gardens, including unique "exterior rooms" created by the poet, offer visitors a glimpse into the artistic inspiration drawn from nature. Additionally, guests can wander the trails once maintained by John Pinnie, Millay's dedicated groundskeeper and farmer, who crafted fireplaces in the house using wood from the property.

Steepletop stands as a testament to Millay's profound influence on literature and her deep connection to the natural world. The Edna St. Vincent Millay Society's commitment to preserving this historic site allows visitors to step into the poet's world, where her spirit and creativity continue to captivate all who walk through the doors of her cherished home.
