Can get pretty buggy so just plan ahead, but a wonderful outdoor spot to enjoy nature with a family. Same old nature from decades ago, lots of walkable paths.

A hidden delight operated by Seatuck Environmental Association for the Town of Islip. Find peace and quiet in the secluded butterfly garden or at pond-side benches, where songbirds and frogs compete with ducks for attention. Boardwalks lead into marshland, or visit the Indian tepee, the living beehive or our museum space. Seatuck runs tours as well educational programs for children year round.

Do not come to this place unless you plan on leaving with a tick infestation. Was only here for less than an hour and left with 5 ticks , and needing to throw a fogger into my car. The views...

Love the nature center. But there is basically no staff and the paths are overgrown, poorly marked, and patchy in places. It is very beautiful and worth it assuming you're willing to wear good...
