Society For Preservation-Encrgmnt-Barbershop Quartet Singing

The Chorus of the Genesee is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the American art form of Barbershop Harmony, rehearsing in Webster, New York, and performing throughout the greater Rochester area. With a robust membership from Rochester and surrounding communities, the chorus, comprised of enthusiastic singers rather than professional musicians, delights audiences with four-part a cappella music.

As part of the Rochester Chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, the Chorus of the Genesee has a rich history of competition, having represented Western New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania over twenty-five times at the international level. Additionally, they actively support local and national service projects, promote music education through programs like Young Men In Harmony, and provide scholarships to high school seniors.
