Dr. Siu-Pun Chan, the Director of the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital is board certified in both areas and is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He is a dedicated clinician, educator and researcher in his field, who is an active participant in the teaching of residents and medical students. Under his leadership, there has been expansive growth in the division with the addition of a dedicated asthma educator, who provides in depth individualized education to children and their families and the accreditation of the Sleep Lab at Staten Island University Hospital to evaluate patients as young as 6 months of age. Dr. Chan is dedicated to ensuring that the children of Staten Island have access to the most advanced, state of the art medical care available.

Her recent research experience includes the effect of obstructive sleep apnea on learning and memory in children, the clinical manifestations of children with sickle cell disease and periodic limb movements in sleep as well as to examine the health care utilization in children with long-term tracheostomy tubes who live at home.She is Fluent in English and German.
