AD Club founds the Advertising Hall of Fame to immortalize industry giants. In 1973, the Hall of Fame was turned over to American Advertising Federation AD Club introduces International ANDY Awards. The ANDYs celebrate great advertising and the people who create it. Winners receive the famous Oscar-style ANDY head as well as the coveted Championship ring, created in 2003 by Honorary Chairman Alex Bogusky and his agency Crispin, Porter + Bogusky. AD Club Foundation is born. The mission: support the educational needs of the advertising community and encourage promising young talent to pursue careers in the industry. So far the Foundation has collected $1.5 million, helping more than 700 New York City students. Club celebrated its 100th anniversary with "Night of 101 Stars." Guests included Bruce Barton, Charlotte Beers, Bill Bernbach, Jay Chiat, Phil Dougherty, William Randolph Hearst, and Annie Leibovitz. The awards presentation honors the successful unions of brand and celebrity. Honorees have included BMW, American Express, The National Fluid Milk Processing Board, Nike, L'Oreal, VISA, Accenture, Pepsi, Alka-Seltzer, Pizza Hut, Hanes, Johnson & Johnson, and MTV. On November 19, 1756, a small group of native-born Scots and Scottish Americans met in lower Manhattan to form what is now the oldest established charitable organization in the Empire State Saint Andrew's Society of the State of New York. We have grown considerably over the last two and one half centuries from those few Colonial gentlemen to over 500 men of Scottish blood, residing in all regions of the tri-state area and beyond. The original charity box of the Scots Society of New York, our predecessor, founded in 1744 has grown, through the generosity of our membership and the acumen of the Investments Committee, into several substantial funds that allow the Society to fulfill its charitable purpose in ways that would make our founders most proud. Today, the Society continues to be a port of call for those Scots who have come to America and are in need of support and financial assistance.
