My ultimate goal is to develop novel therapeutics to prevent and treat the cardiac complications of metabolic diseases.The goal of my research is to determine the molecular mechanisms that cause arrhythmias and cardiomyopathy during metabolic stress. My laboratory investigates disease models of chronic metabolic stress (e.g. obesity) and acute metabolic stress (e.g. sepsis), using molecular biology, cellular physiology, and in vivo techniques.
