Dr. Russell Camhi is a primary care sports medicine physician with the Northwell Health Orthopedic Institute. As a non-surgical orthopedic specialist he provides assessment and care of musculoskeletal issues for all parts of the body. Dr. Camhi will review multiple non-surgical treatment options to address your pain and when indicated he performs ultrasound guided injections with appropriate usage of cortisone, hyaluronic acid and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). He also manages sport-related concussion and is the supervising physician for numerous high schools throughout Long Island. Dr. Camhi has been the head team physician for Hofstra University since 2018. He is also an educator teaching the next generation of physicians, and serves as the associate program director for the Primary care Sports Medicine fellowship at Northwell Health Plainview Hospital. He is also an assistant professor at the Hofstra/Northwell School of Medicine teaching medical students, as well as residents in family medicine, orthopedics and physiatry.

Dr. Gilbert is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and The New York Society for Surgery of the Hand. He has a Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Gilbert previously served as the President, Vice President and Secretary and of the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand. He has published medical articles and presented at regional and national Orthopaedic conferences on conditions related to the hand and upper extremity. He has performed funded research related to the hand and upper extremity. Dr. Gilbert has received numerous awards and honors, including Castle Connolly Top Doctors, New York Magazine Best Doctors, New York Times Super Doctors, Newsday Top Doctors on Long Island, Best Doctors in America, Castle Connolly America's Most Honored Doctors, Patients' Choice Award and Most Compassionate Doctor.
