I have taken care of patient with seizures and epilepsy for almost 30 years. I have devoted my career to provide superb patient care and to investigate epilepsy and its causes. I am fortunate to work with the smartest people in the field of epilepsy and have been able to organize and lead multiple research projects in epilepsy genetics, outcome, imaging, etc.To help patients with epilepsy, I wrote two books for patients and families. Epilepsy 101: a guide to patients and families and most recently epilepsy surgery: a guide for patients.

He has developed such orthopedic devices as the Stryker Howmedica s Asnis GuidedScrew System, the Universal Compression Screw, Biomet s Rx90 Total Hip System, and the Monolock Component of the Vanguard Total Knee System. He continues to do research in hip and knee biomechanics. Dr. Asnis is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery andthe National Board of Medical Examiners. He is also a fellow of the AmericanAcademy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College Surgeons. Dr. Asnis earned his medical degree from Washington University School ofMedicine, St. Louis, MO. Souhel Najjar, MD

Souhel Najjar, MD is the Chair of Neurology at Lenox Hill Hospital and Staten Island University Hospital and is Chair and Professor of Neurology at the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine. Dr. Najjar is a world-renowned physician, internationally recognized for his clinical, research and teaching expertise, having dedicated his career to the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy, neuroinflammation-related neuropsychiatric disorders and autoimmune disorders of central nervous system.Dr. Najjar received his MD from Demascus Medical School in Syria and completed residencies in pathology and neurology at Albany Medical College. Following residency Dr. Najjar completed a fellowship in neuropathology at the NYU School of Medicine as well as a fellowship in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology at NYU s Hospital for Joint Diseases.Prior to his appointment at North Shore-LIJ, Dr. Najjar was the Director of Neurosciences and Director of Stroke at SIUH, as well as the Director of Epilepsy Quality Assurance and Associate Professor of Neurology at New York University School of Medicine.
