Roxana M. Guerra, MD

Amanda J. Powers, MD is Assistant Professor of Surgery (in Anesthesiology) as of August 1, 2014. Dr. Powers has practiced at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center since 2006, where she completed her general surgery residency. She served as an attending physician in the Department of Surgery, Acute Care Surgery Division during 2011, followed by a clinical fellowship in minimally invasive surgery in 2012. Since that time she has served as Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery while completing her Clinical Fellowship in with the Department of Anesthesiology this year. With training in laparoscopic surgery and critical care, Dr. Powers forged an innovative path allowing her to integrate the ICU into the acute care model.

Dr. Payero is an obstetrician and gynecologist, providing thoughtful care to patients every day. She believes that the only way to provide optimal care is to communicate with each patient and take on the role of an advocate for their needs. Dr. Payero graduated with a bachelor in Biology and Chemistry from SUNY New Paltz, then earned a Master in Public Health Policy and Management from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. Dr. Payero attended medical school at St. George's University and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Staten Island University Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time in the park and with her family.

Dr. Frank Lovaglio is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Columbia University Medical Center and practices emergency medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He completed residency training in emergency medicine at Jacobi /Montefiore Medical Centers - Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and in internal medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital / Cornell, and maintains ABMS board certification in both specialties.
