Why take the subway to Roosevelt Island, when you can take the tram? It's part of the MTA, so it costs the same as the subway or bus. We took the tram on a Sunday, and only had to wait one cycle....

Fun way to get on and off the island. Easy to enter and exit. Cool views if you are by the window Standing only, typically crowded.
