Dr. Wilken is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship trained Mohs micrographic surgeon, and practices medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology at the Northwell Dermatology offices in Lake Success and Great River. Dr. Wilken graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with Departmental Honors in Biochemistry, and earned her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Wilken completed three years of training in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina before deciding to pursue training in Dermatology. She completed a two-year postdoctoral clinical fellowship in the Department of Dermatology at the University of California, Davis with a focus in complex medical dermatology during which time she was involved in multiple clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies spanning a variety of dermatologic conditions including psoriasis, melanoma, autoimmune blistering disorders and atopic dermatitis. Dr. Wilken completed her Dermatology residency training at the University of California, Davis and then went on to complete further fellowship training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery & Dermatologic Oncology at NYU Langone Medical Center. Dr. Wilken s primary clinical focus is in Mohs surgery/cutaneous oncology and the surgical management of skin cancers including basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and melanoma. In addition, Dr. Wilken practices a full range of procedural dermatology services including surgical management of benign skin lesions and cosmetic dermatology services.

Dr. Garg is a Professor and the Founding Chair for the Department of Dermatology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra / Northwell. He has published a number of articles in the peer-reviewed literature and has authored several book chapters. Dr. Garg has had leadership roles within prominent national professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Board of Dermatology, the Accreditation Counsel of Graduate Medical Education, the Association of Professors of Dermatology, the Medical Dermatological Society, the National Psoriasis Foundation, the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation, the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis, and the CHORD COUSIN Collaboration (C3). Dr. Garg also serves on editorial boards for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is editor-in-chief of the first edition book on Rheumatic Skin Diseases. Dr. Garg was awarded the 2016 Thomas G. Pearson, EdD Memorial Education Award by the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Garg has achieved international recognition as a skilled medical dermatologist and a medical educator. His subspecialty expertise is in interdisciplinary based care for patients with autoimmune and inflammatory skin diseases including psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa, lupus, dermatomyositis, and vasculitis.

Sheila Shaigany, MD

Dr. Shaigany is an Assistant Professor for the Department of Dermatology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra / Northwell. She also serves as Co-director of the Inpatient Dermatology Consultative Service and as an Attending Physician for the Cutaneous Toxicities to Chemotherapies Program in partnership with the Monter Cancer Center. Dr. Shaigany has an undergraduate degree in Theater from Northwestern University and worked as a professional actor in New York prior to switching to a career in medicine. She subsequently earned her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Shaigany completed her dermatology residency training at New York University. She also completed a research fellowship at Columbia University with a focus on melanocyte biology and BRAF mutated melanoma. Dr. Shaigany is the recipient of Rudin Foundation Grants for research involving the diagnosis of pyoderma gangrenosum and its associated comorbidities, as well as the diagnosis of cutaneous infection. She was awarded a grant from the American Skin Association for her research on melanoma. She was also awarded with a Women s Dermatologic Society Mentorship Award for her interest in complex medical dermatology. Dr. Shaigany has authored several peer-reviewed articles that have been published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD), Lancet, among others. Dr. Shaigany s subspecialty interest encompasses a wide variety of skin conditions including neutrophilic dermatoses (i.e. pyoderma gangrenosum, Sweet syndrome), cutaneous toxicities to chemotherapy, cutaneous vasculitis, cutaneous infection, dermatomyositis and other connective tissue disorders, drug rashes and inflammatory skin disease (i.e. atopic dermatitis and psoriasis). In addition to her interests in complex medical dermatology, she also enjoys seeing patients with more routine general cosmetic and medical dermatology concerns.
