Sergey Rekhtman, MD
Dr. Rekhtman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra / Northwell. He is board certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Rekhtman is also the Co-Director of the Inpatient Dermatology Consultation Service at Northshore University Hospital, Long Island Jewish Hospital, and Cohen's Children Medical Center. He additionally serves as the Program Director for the Residency Training Program in Dermatology at Northwell Health. Dr. Rekhtman received a Doctorate in Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. While working as a clinical pharmacist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Dr. Rekhtman also pursued a Master of Public Health specializing in Healthcare Policy and Management at the Boston University School of Public Health. This led to his induction into the Delta Omega Honor Society for public health and the Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society for healthcare management. Dr. Rekhtman went on to earn is medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He subsequently completed his residency in dermatology at Northwell Health where he served as Academic Chief Resident in his final year. Dr. Rekhtman's clinical interests include inpatient consultative dermatology, cutaneous drug toxicities, general dermatology, complex medical dermatology, and rheumatic skin diseases (i.e. lupus, dermatomyositis, psoriasis, vasculitis, etc.). His Research interests are primarily focused on inpatient and acute dermatologic conditions as well as on cutaneous drug toxicities. Dr. Rekhtman also has a strong interest in medical student and dermatology resident education. Dr. Rekhtman has served in a variety of leadership roles, including membership on the Council of Science and Research, as well as the Healthcare Finance Committee within the American Academy of Dermatology. He also serves on multiple graduate medical educational committees within Northwell Health.
Sarah Jawed Noor, MD
Dr. Sarah J. Noor joined the dermatology faculty at Northwell in 2023 and serves as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the Department of Dermatology. She also is an Assistant Professor at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Prior to joining the group at Northwell, she was on faculty at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center where she primarily saw patients with cutaneous lymphomas and dermatologic adverse events to cancer therapies. During her time there, she served as an investigator on several clinical trials to develop novel treatment approaches to address symptoms from disease or disease treatment in cutaneous lymphomas and other malignancies. She also is interested in understanding racial differences in dermatologic adverse events to cancer therapies, and has been involved in efforts to increase patient diversity in clinical trials and community outreach initiatives. Dr. Noor continues to have a clinical and research interest in oncology and cutaneous lymphoma and participates in the multidisciplinary care of these patients. She also has a clinical interest in general and complex medical dermatology and enjoys serving a diverse adult and pediatric patient population. In her role as Director of Diversity and Inclusion, she will be leading several departmental initiatives including medical student and resident curricular efforts, improving patient access to dermatologic care, and community engagement. Dr. Noor earned her undergraduate and medical degree from the George Washington University. She completed her internship in Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and residency in Dermatology at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell where she served as chief resident in her final year. She is a member of several dermatology organizations including the American Academy of Dermatology in which she is active committee member, the Women s Dermatologic Society, the Skin of Color Society, and the United States Cutaneous Lymphoma Consortium.
