Established in 1844, University at Albany was designated as university center of the State University of New York in 1962. The university offers various undergraduate and graduate education programs and enrolls more than 17,000 diverse students in over 10 schools and colleges across three campuses. Its list of schools and colleges include college of arts and sciences, and nanoscale science and engineering, school of business, school of education, college of computing and information, school of criminal justice, school of public health, and undergraduate education. Located in Albany, N.Y., the institute operates several departments, including university art museum, performing arts center, department of music and theater, and New York State Writers Institute.
