History
The Postgraduate Center for Mental Health, a true pioneer in community-based mental health services, has a long and storied history that spans well over six decades. Founded in 1945 by Dr. Lewis R. Wolberg, M.D., the organization began as a small clinic in a townhouse on the Upper East Side, treating veterans returning from World War II.
Specialties
The Postgraduate Center for Mental Health offers a full range of ambulatory services for both adults and children. Our experienced staff provide clinical and psychiatric rehabilitative services, as well as care coordination, to people with behavioral health needs. The goals of all ambulatory services include: * To support recovery * To enhance the quality of life for those with behavioral health problems * To achieve an improved health status The services strive to eliminate health disparities while fostering positive community integration using a holistic therapeutic approach. While all services require a mental health problem, the services also address substance use disorders, chronic medical problems, and social supports.
