History

Ponche Taqueria is a family owned restaurant. The head chef has worked in Manhattan kitchens for 20 years and with all his experience he and the owners were able to kick start their dream. It is easy to miss this cozy restaurant but most locals know of it and word of has spread quickly. Ponche Taqueria aims at making food that is delicious, authentic, and fast to meet the needs of the city.

Specialties

Ponche Taqueria is a family owned Mexican restaurant located in the heart of Hell's Kitchen, NYC. Our food is a great blend between traditional Mexican recipes, passed down through generations, and Tex-Mex cuisine. Ponche's #1 item has to be the Fish Tacos but our specialties truly cover the entire menu; starting with the home made guacamole, freshly made with avocado, onions, cilantro, tomato, some salt and pepper with just the right amount of lime. From our Quesadillas the shrimp quesadilla has been a fan favorite. It is made with a flour tortilla, cheese, beans, pico de gallo then cut in four slices with sour cream and tomatillo sauce on top, finished off with guacamole on the side. Another fan favorite would be all of our Burritos. They range from steak to fish to vegetarian. All of our burritos come packed with rice, black beans, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, tomatillo sauce, and the meat, sea food or veggie of choice. On the plate they arrive topped with some more sour cream and chips on the side. Our Enchiladas do not stay far behind in popularity and you can choose between a red adobo sauce, home made mole, or a tomatillo based green sauce. Lastly the Tacos are always a great choice, you can choose any 3 tacos to make savory combination of your favorite Ponche flavors. Our aim is to continue making delicious Mexican food that the general public will enjoy.
