History

Established in 1921 Pohs Institute was founded in New York City in 1921 by Herbert Pohs. Mr. Pohs' vision was to create a school that delivered the finest education combined with first-rate customer service all at a competitive price. While regarded as the leader in classroom education, Pohs Institute has built and continues to build a substantial library of self-study, webinar and online courses in response to the changing times and new State regulations. These new delivery methods allow flexibility in pricing and scheduling for our students to complete their CE requirements. A veritable Who's Who list of Insurance, Investment and Banking companies have entrusted Pohs Institute to handle all or part of their educational requirements for insurance.

Pohs Institute is NY State approved insurance licensing school, catering to the insurance, banking and financial industries since 1921. We offer pre-licensing and continuing education courses for Life/Health & Property/Casualty. Classroom, webinar, online and self-study options available (where applicable). Private, in-house classes also available for groups of 10 or more.
