History

In 1994, Jose Mateo opened the doors to Peligro Sports at 2200 Amsterdam Avenue in New York. Mateo grew up in Washington Heights in the shadow of Yankee Stadium. Like many young kids from the Dominican Republic growing up in the city, baseball became a part of the routine of daily life as naturally as drawing breath.
