Patrick J Hurley, MD

Brian A. Fallon, MD, MPH, is the director of the Center for Neuroinflammatory Disorders and Biobehavioral Medicine and director of the Lyme and Tick-Borne Diseases Research Center at Columbia University. A graduate of Harvard College, he obtained his MD degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, as well as a master's degree in public health epidemiology from Columbia University. He did his medical internship at Columbia University Medical Center and research training and an NIH fellowship in biological psychiatry at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and the New York State Psychiatric Institute.In addition to his work on illness anxiety, hypochondriasis, obsessive compulsive disorder, and somatoform disorders, Dr. Fallon is recognized internationally for his research on neurologic and neuropsychiatric Lyme disease. He has served on expert panels for the National Institutes of Health in different areas, including OCD and neurologic and chronic Lyme Disease, and has received over $10 million in both private and governmental grants to continue his research. He is the recipient of many awards, including the Laughlin Award from the American College of Psychiatrists, two commencement awards from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons (Richard Raynor Watson Award and the Titus Munson Coan Prize for best essay in Biomedical Research ("The Rise of Tuberculosis among the Homeless Mentally Ill"), the Columbia University Horwitz Award for excellence in Research, the Columbia Universit Medical Student Teacher of the Year award for psychiatry, a NARSAD Principal Investigator Award (2006), and the Roseke award from the American Psychiatric Association for outstanding teaching to medical students (2008). His major research interests cut across the boundaries of medicine, psychiatry, nuclear medicine and neurology.

Dr. Garza is a double-boarded general adult and consultation-liaison psychiatrist at the Columbia Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, where she collaborates with her medical and surgical colleagues in caring for patients with comorbid medical and psychiatric illnesses and supervises medical students, residents, and fellows performing inpatient psychiatric consultations on patients on the medical and surgical floors. In addition, Dr. Garza maintains a small outpatient psychotherapy practice through the Columbia Faculty Practice Organization. She has a particular interest in incorporating psychotherapy and integative techniques such as hypnosis and bright light therapy into her patients' treatment.

Silvia Sloan, M.D. is an Assistant Professor at Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Sloan works as an attending psychiatrist on the inpatient unit at New York Presbyterian - Milstein Hospital. She maintains also a private practice with adults for psychotherapy and medication management. Dr. Sloan's private office is located at Columbus Circle, near Lincoln Center. Dr. Sloan completed her Psychiatry Internship, Residency, and Psychosomatic Medicine Fellowship at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center. Dr. Sloan is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is also certified in electroconvulsive therapy.Dr. Sloan's patient-centered approach is warm, evidence-based, and confidential. Dr. Sloan believes that each patient should be evaluated as an individual in the context of one's life circumstances. By understanding a patient's subjective experience and his/her goals, Dr. Sloan offers individualized treatment focused on the person, rather than a disorder. Dr. Sloan can provide psychotherapy only, psychotherapy and medication management, or medication only, as best suited for the patient. She is available for consultations, individual and family therapy, as well as medication evaluations and management.By combining her expertise in both psychopharmacology and psychotherapy, Dr. Sloan offers not only evidence-based psychiatric treatment but also a path towards long-lasting change and a deeper understanding of the mind. Dr. Sloan assists patients with a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low self esteem, feelings of inadequacy and interpersonal issues. Dr. Sloan has a specific interest and expertise in treating individuals with ADHD, PTSD/ trauma, panic disorder, somatic symptom disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, eating disorders and addiction.
