Shyla Kodi, MD, is a neurologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley and an attending physician in the department of neurology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital. She is board certified in neurology, epilepsy, sleep medicine, and clinical neurophysiology by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. In addition to treating general neurological conditions, Dr. Kodi is a board-certified specialist in handling patients with various types of seizure disorders/intractable epilepsy and an array of sleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome, parasomnias, and insomnias. Dr Kodi is skilled at the treatment of intractable migraine headaches with Botox therapy and trigger point injections, which is also used in the treatment of muscle pain and muscle spasms.Dr. Kodi is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and American Epilepsy Society. Before joining NewYork-Presbyterian, Dr. Kodi honed her expertise in treating patients with complex neurological conditions at Westchester Medical Center (WCM). She also taught medical students, and residents at WMC and New York Medical College. After graduating from Bangalore Medical College in Bangalore, India, Dr. Kodi served her internship at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in Jamaica, New York. She completed her neurology residency at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York and served her clinical neurophysiology fellowship at Jacobs Neurological Institute at SUNY Buffalo in New York. She continued her training with a sleep medicine fellowship at Winthrop University Hospital.

Debbie G. Bakes, MD, is a colorectal surgeon and chief of the Westchester Section of the Colorectal Surgery Division within NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Her practice is primarily based out of NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital. Dr. Bakes is a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and the Hellenic Medical Society of New York. She has published and presented research on subjects such as laparoscopic colon resections, pancreatic cancer, and recovery after colorectal surgery. She won Third Place Podium Award at the New York Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons' Residents Night and was granted an award for her research done while serving her residency at Stamford Hospital. Dr. Bakes earned her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed her residency at Stamford Hospital and NYP/Columbia, and went on to complete her fellowship at the University of Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital. She also received additional training in robotics and advanced life support.
