History

Norwegian Wood was originally Golan Floors, Inc. Golan Floors was two guys and a van. We merged with two other guys and a van (Norwegian Wood). We opened a showroom on 9th Avenue in Chelsea. Our business grew strictly by referrals. We became a preferred sub-contractor to many high-end contractors in NYC. We continued to grow. We moved from the Chelsea showroom to a 5,000 sq. foot office/warehouse space in Williamsburg. We now have 20+ co-workers, five vans and a reputation for delivering beautiful hardwood flooring. Our office and field staffs are consistently complimented for their work ethic, integrity and for going the extra mile. Excellent customer service is always our goal. We walk you through your entire wood flooring project. We let you know what to expect every step of the way and what is expected from you during the process (don't walk on your floors or replace furniture until they are dry!). We happily hold your hand - only if necessary.

We are a high-end wood flooring contractor offering mid-line pricing. We work directly with homeowners, renters, designers, architects, management companies and we sub-contract for many of the larger General Contractors in the New York area. Our business has been built almost entirely by word of mouth from thousands of satisfied customers who are enjoying their beautiful wood floors.
