New York City Urban Adventures

History

The company was started in 2009 as Urban Oyster Tours with a mission to transform travel and the way people experienced the city. We focused on small group tours of neighborhoods featuring the local businesses in each place. We wanted to help stem the growing tide of chain shops sweeping over the city and support local entrepreneurs, all while creating fun and interesting experiences. In 2013 we changed our name to Urban Adventures and we now offer more than 15 unique experiences all over New York City.

Unique guided tours featuring food, drink, sites, history and culture that focus on neighborhoods and local shops all over New York City. We are a new style of travel experience for those who want to get off the beaten path and really connect with a destination. Urban Adventures tours introduce guests to the small, local spots that visitors would never notice on their own. On each tour guests will feel more like they are hanging out with friends rather than being herded around on a tour. Whether a foodie, a craft beer fan, or a history buff, Urban Adventures has a tour for them. The Urban Adventures team also believes that local travel should truly benefit the local community. Too often when people travel they stick to things that are comfortable, like chain restaurants or shops that they recognize. That's why Urban Adventures promotes small businesses that support other local businesses and suppliers. Urban Adventures ensure that tours have a positive impact on the communities and people of the places they visit.
