At Rivendell Preschool, we believe that learning to get along with a wide range of people and learning to respect both similarities and differences has lasting benefits. Our preschool classrooms typically include children with a variety of learning styles and abilities and offer rich opportunities to discover materials specially designed for their levels of readiness and maturity. Our teachers, along with the special educators and therapists who support children with identified special needs, provide a warm, rich preschool experience for all the children, for each other and for parents.

Variety Child Learning Center, founded in 1966 and located in Syosset, N.Y., is a nonprofit center providing child development programs and special education services to young children and their families. It offers services to children with learning disabilities, autism, developmental disorders and behavior problems. The organization provides special education programs and services at no cost to families living in Nassau, Suffolk and Queens counties in New York. It also offers support services for families, and research and training of early childhood personnel. VCLC provides special programs and services on- and off-site. It offers programs in local nursery schools, child care centers and school districts. It additionally offers Sunday respite care, social skills training groups, cultural arts performances, and applied research and training for early childhood personnel.

Southern Connecticut Hebrew Academy is a community educational institution that enrolls students in preschool through grade eight. It also manages a high school that provides academic and extracurricular programs for female students in grades 9 through 12. Southern Connecticut Hebrew Academy offers a technology program that focuses on the development of academic skills by offering innovative and engaging technology opportunities for students and teachers. It conducts classes in reading, language arts, mathematics, social studies and science. The school maintains after-school science, chess, crafts and tennis clubs, as well as organizes various science fairs, musical performances, recreational activities, educational competitions and sports tournaments. Additionally, its campsite features a gym, sports fields and playgrounds, as well as an indoor swimming pool. Southern Connecticut Hebrew Academy is located in Orange, Conn.
