John H. West Elementary School is a part of the Plainedge Public Schools and serves students in grades kindergarten through five. Located in Bethpage, N.Y., the school s academic curriculum includes English, mathematics, science, social studies and language arts. It also offers classes in physical education, art, computers and music. The school additionally provides reading, writing and language skills. Its parent-teacher organization organizes various fundraising activities and other programs for parents, teachers and students. The school also organizes several parent-teacher conferences, book fairs, budget workshops and community discussion. It also serves lunch and its menu includes hamburgers, chicken patties, chicken fajitas, chicken nuggets, fluffy rice, French fries, pea soups, pastas, hot dogs and cheese burgers.
