Dr. Schmidt is an assistant professor of medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and attending physician at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She completed a research fellowship in the Laboratory of Immunoregulation at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), prior to medical school. She completed her internal medicine residency training at NYU Langone Medical Center and rheumatology fellowship training at Columbia University. Dr. Schmidt is dedicated to providing culturally competent care for patients across the rheumatic disease spectrum. Her academic interests include Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, cutaneous manifestations of autoimmune disease, Pre Clinical Autoimmunity and health disparities in rheumatic diseases.

As a member of the urogynecology team working closely with Drs. Asfaw and Segal, Alicia is dedicated to providing patient-centered care to women across the lifespan with pelvic floor disorders.As a devoted life-long learner, she is currently working towards obtaining a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree at the University of California, San Francisco via the virtual platform. Alicia is seeing new patients at Weil Cornell Medicine's East 68th Street location on Monday's and Wednesday's.
