Kalliope Tsirilakis, M.D.

Dr. Kalliope Tsirilakis is the Director of Pediatric Pulmonology and the Pediatric Asthma Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens. She is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine and an assistant attending pediatrician at New York-Presbyterian Komansky Children's Hospital. Dr. Tsirilakis continued her training at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx, where she completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Respiratory Medicine. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology. Her expertise includes the full spectrum of pediatric pulmonary conditions, with special expertise in Severe Asthma, Patient Education, Quality Improvement, Flexible Bronchoscopy, and Aerodigestive disorders. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Tsirilakis is involved in research and education. She has several research interests spanning Quality Improvement Initiatives, Asthma Education Programs, Health Care Disparities, Telehealth programs, and Pathophysiologic and Inflammatory Mechanisms of Asthma. Dr. Tsirilakis is also active in community engagement, working closely with St. Mary’s Home Care Program and the NYP Queens Community Health Worker Program . She is Chairperson of the American Lung Association’s Asthma Coalition of New York City, and serves as faculty in their Asthma Educator Institute. She is also lead faculty advisor on the New York State Department of Health’s BREATHE-NY asthma education program. She is fluent in Modern Greek and conversational in Spanish.
