History
I have a client in Montreal Canada that was audited by the IRS which resulted in a tax deficiency of $750K. The client, together with their Canadian travelled to Washington, hired a lawyer and one of the big 10 accounting firms to contest the tax deficiency. The results from the IRS was the same $750K., and spending thousands of dollars. They were recommended to me by one of my clients. I flew to Montreal for a day to look over the books and records. Alter about 45 minutes in reviewing the documents, I told the potential client, there is no problem with their tax return and the IRS was incorrect. I came back to my office, contacted the IRS agent, submitted the relevant forms and documents to the IRS agent. The final determination from the IRS was a tax refund of $14.00 Thereafter, the potential client from Montreal became my permanent client.
