Dr. Lauren Shikowitz-Behr is a Long Island native, Harvard fellowship-trained, and Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon with expertise in cosmetic surgery of the breast, body, and face, plastic surgery after weight loss, and breastreconstruction. A true New Yorker, Dr. Shikowitz-Behr graduated with honors fromNew York University and subsequently went on to receive her medical degree fromAlbert Einstein College of Medicine. She was then accepted into the integratedPlastic Surgery residency program at Northwell Health where she trained in the fullbreadth of plastic surgery from complex microsurgical reconstruction to intricateaesthetic surgery and served as chief resident. Dr. Shikowitz-Behr was then selectedto complete a highly specialized fellowship in advanced cosmetic and reconstructivebreast surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital, where she also served as anassistant instructor in plastic surgery for the Harvard Medical School.Dr. Shikowitz-Behr is dedicated to advancing the field of plastic surgery. Her clinicalresearch has been presented at regional and national meetings, and she has multiplepublications in peer-reviewed journals. He completed a full Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery residency at The George Washington University. He then pursued further training and completed a second full residency in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). This was followed by a fellowship in advanced reconstructive and microvascular surgery at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University (NYU). Dr. Tanna completed a MBA in healthcare management from The George Washington University. Dr. Tanna has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles and been invited to present at hundreds of national and international scientific meetings. He is currently Associate Editor for the leading Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (PRS) Journal. As a leader in his field, Dr. Tanna has been featured in national and international media outlets. Among several noteworthy honors and awards, Dr. Tanna has also been listed in the New York Magazine Top Doctors, Castle Connolly Top Doctors, New York Times Super Doctors, and Newsday Top Doctors lists. Finally, Dr. Tanna is dedicated to advocating for women s healthcare in the community. He is a certified physician member of the Katz Institute for Women s Health and an Advisory Board Member of the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Support Program.
