Royce Chen, MD, is Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Columbia University Medical Center, Attending Ophthalmologist at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, and Attending Ophthalmologist at Harlem Hospital Center. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the surgical and medical management of vitreoretinal disease and uveitis. Dr. Chen also serves as the Residency Program Director for the Department of Ophthalmology at Columbia and is an active educator for the vitreoretinal fellowship program.Dr. Chen graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Music where he sang at Mory's every week with the Yale Whiffenpoofs. He received his M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine before performing his ophthalmology residency at Columbia University, where he served as Chief Resident. This was followed by a 2-year vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami, where he served as a Clinical Instructor in Ophthalmology.He has received numerous honors, including the John Martin Wheeler Resident Teaching Award at Columbia, the Heed Foundation Fellowship, American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award, selection into the New-York Presbyterian Leadership-Academy (LEAD), and recognition as a NYC Super Doctor.Dr. Chen has a wide range of research interests, ranging from retinal imaging, to artificial intelligence, to innovation in clinical and surgical education. In addition to his roles at Columbia, Dr. Chen also serves on the Board of Trustees and as Vice President of Trainee Mentorship for the Vit Buckle Society and as Planning Group Member for the National Eye Institute Health Education Program.

Dr. Jason Horowitz, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, joined Columbia in 2011 after a rewarding 25-year experience delivering retinal care to the Waterbury, Connecticut community. A graduate of Harvard College and Yale Medical School, Dr. Horowitz was an ophthalmology resident at Yale before completing a retinal fellowship at Cornell, where he trained under Dr. Stanley Chang.Dr. Horowitz's interests in ophthalmology are wide ranging. He is currently Medical Director of the Residents' Eye Clinic at Harkness, where some of the most complicated and diverse patients in the world are evaluated and treated for an astonishing variety of ocular diseases. In a completely different domain, Dr. Horowitz has assumed the role of performing essential evaluations for retinopathy of prematurity in the infant patients of the world famous neonatal intensive care unit at Columbia's Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York.In yet another realm, Dr. Horowitz manages complex retinal and macular disorders in adults such as retinal detachments and macular pucker. Together with his 36 years of retinal practice experience, Dr. Horowitz employs the full range of cutting-edge medical and surgical modalities in his practice. He particularly values the ability to use the most improved, up-to-date laser, pharmacological, and surgical therapies to successfully prevent (and, in some cases, even correct) profound visual impairment in conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and macular holes or epiretinal membranes.

Lisa Park, MD is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Columbia University Medical Center and an Attending Ophthalmologist at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Park received her undergraduate degree from Harvard College and her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine. She completed her residency training at NYU and a fellowship in anterior segment and refractive surgery at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital and New York University School of Medicine. After completing a fellowship in anterior segment and refractive surgery, she joined the faculty at NYU where she was Assistant and Associate Director of Residency Training at NYU for eleven years, mentoring over 70 residents and pioneering the use of virtual surgery simulation in residency training. During the same time, she served as Chief of Ophthalmology at Bellevue Hospital where she was recognized by NYC Health & Hospitals as Doctor of the Year in 2007. Dr. Park joined Columbia's Department of Ophthalmology in 2017, and is a well-recognized cataract surgeon with a flourishing practice on Manhattan's west side. She is an expert in the latest surgical techniques including femtosecond-laser assisted cataract surgery and the use of astigmatism and presbyopia correcting intraocular lens implants. She has been consistently recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctors since 2015, and Exceptional Women in Medicine since 2019. In 2021, Dr. Park was elected to Columbia Doctors FPO Board of Governance, and currently serves as the Department of Ophthalmology's Diversity Equity and Inclusion Officer.Dr. Park has published nearly 70 book chapters, journal articles and research abstracts, and lectures nationally and internationally on complex cataract surgery techniques. Her interests include global ophthalmology, and she travels regularly to Guatemala and East Africa to teach and perform humanitarian eye surgery in developing countries, serving on the boards of a number of non-profit organizations dedicated to combating world blindness. Her philosophy is that no two eyes are the same, and her objective is to meet each individuals visual needs.
