The Bayport-Blue Point Heritage Association, established in 1983, diligently works to safeguard the rich history of Bayport and Blue Point. With a membership exceeding 300 individuals, the association meticulously gathers and preserves historical data related to the towns, encompassing their populace, edifices, and narratives.

The jewel in the crown of their efforts is the restoration of Meadow Croft, the erstwhile summer sanctuary of John Ellis Roosevelt, a notable figure linked to Theodore Roosevelt. Recognized on the National Register of Historic Places since 1987, Meadow Croft now stands as a historical museum set within the enchanting grounds of Suffolk County’s Sans Souci Park.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the past through tours held on Saturdays and Sundays from June to October, between 2pm and 4pm. Beyond the museum, the association offers an array of engaging activities such as bike tours, boat cruises, summer concerts, and a festive Christmas open-house weekend, ensuring an enriching experience for all who partake.
