Mathew S. Maurer, MD - Dr. Maurer is a general internist and geriatric cardiologist with advanced training in heart failure and cardiac transplantation. He is the Arnold and Arlene Goldstein Professor of Cardiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons, where directs the Clinical Cardiovascular Research Laboratory for the Elderly (CCRLE). Dr. Maurer is a member of the Advanced Cardiac Care Center at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia Campus. He is the Director of the Cardiac Amyloidosis Program. He has published over 300 articles including peer reviewed manuscripts, reviews and book chapters. He was Chair of the American College of Cardiology’s Geriatric Cardiology Member Section, which is the largest organization dedicated to advancing the care of older adults with cardiovascular disease. He was co-chair of the Steering Committee of the ATTR-ACT trial showing tafamidis was a safe and effective therapy for transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy. Throughout his career, he has promulgated an approach to older adults with cardiovascular disease that offers the best of both geriatric and cardiovascular medicine in which a comprehensive holistic approach to enhance functional capacity and quality of life is at the forefront of emerging techniques to address cardiovascular physiologic derangement that disproportionately afflict older adults.

Dr. Pumpalova is also the site principal investigator of industry-sponsored clinical trials investigating novel therapies for the treatment of colorectal cancer. Further, Dr. Pumpalova conducts studies in low- and middle-income countries focused on early detection and screening for colorectal cancer. She has active studies in South Africa and Dominican Republic. Her research goal is to improve outcomes for patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer, regardless of where they reside. Her work has been recognized by several awards including an ASCO Young Investigator Award and ASCO Career Development Award. Dr. Matthew Moy is a board-certified radiologist specializing in musculoskeletal imaging. He is an assistant professor of radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and chief of the Division of Musculoskeletal Radiology. Dr. Moy is experienced in all aspects of musculoskeletal imaging, including sports injury, soft tissue and bone tumors, spinal imaging, and peripheral nerve imaging, as well as musculoskeletal interventions such as joint injections and aspirations, barbotage, and soft tissue and bone tumor biopsy. Dr. Moy also serves as program director for the Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian. He received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York. His postdoctoral training consists of a preliminary internal medicine internship at the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System (Northwell Health), a four year diagnostic radiology residency with subspecialty training in abdominal imaging (gastrointestinal/genitourinary) at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was a chief resident, and a fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging and intervention at Massachusetts General Hospital before he was recruited for a faculty position at Columbia. Dr. Moy is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, American College of Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, and Society of Skeletal Radiology.
