Mary Louise Keohan, MD - MSK Sarcoma Oncologist

I am a board-certified medical oncologist who treats patients with gastrointestinal cancers. My specialization is in primary liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma), pancreas, gallbladder, and bile duct tumors. As part of a multidisciplinary group, my colleagues and I offer patients a team approach to treating these cancers.

I am a medical oncologist specializing in the care of patients with sarcomas of soft tissue and bone. The word “sarcoma” encompasses more than 50 different rare types of cancer, each with unique characteristics and behavior. As an attending physician at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, I work closely with leading sarcoma experts in medicine, surgery, radiation, pathology, cancer biology, and nursing to deliver the best patient care for each type of sarcoma.

I am a surgeon with more than 20 years of experience in diagnosing and treating men and women with benign and malignant (cancerous) diseases of the liver, bile ducts, gallbladder, and pancreas. Most of my patients have primary liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, bile duct cancer, or colon cancer that has spread (metastasized) to the liver, which is known as secondary liver cancer. I also treat benign conditions such as pancreatic cysts.
