Martin Luther King Jr. Community Park, located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, was founded in 1993 in collaboration with Henry St. Settlement and GrowNYC. Originally a vest pocket park, it underwent renovation to become a vibrant green space. The park features two main areas, including a sunny open section with a small lawn and roses, as well as a shady area with a slate patio, picnic tables, and ornamental shrubs and flowers.
GrowNYC, the organization behind the park, is dedicated to providing New Yorkers with access to fresh and healthy local food through their network of Greenmarket farmers markets and Farmstands.
