The Marine Society of New York is a long-standing charitable and educational organization, dedicated to supporting seafarers who have served as Captains or Officers of merchant vessels under the United States flag, as well as their families in times of need.

Established in colonial times and formally chartered by King George III in 1770, the Society has a rich history of improving maritime knowledge and providing assistance to indigent and distressed shipmasters, widows, and orphans. Honored by the membership of President George Washington, the Society continues to uphold its mission of supporting the maritime community.
