Conrad B. Blum, MD, is Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center. His practice focuses both on his area of specialization (endocrinology and metabolic diseases, particularly disorders of cholesterol and triglyceride, thyroid diseases, and diabetes) and general internal medicine. He received his BS and MD degrees at Northwestern University, where he was enrolled in the prestigious Honors Program in Medical Education and was selected for the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He subsequently had a medical internship at Columbia University Medical Center and a residency in internal medicine at Harvard Universitys Peter Bent Brigham Hospital (now renamed as Brigham and Womens Hospital) in Boston. He was a fellow in endocrinology at Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago. He developed a high level of expertise in management of lipid disorders during three years of research and clinical training in the metabolic diseases laboratory of the National Institutes of Health. He is board certified in internal medicine and in the specialty of endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. From 2008-2013, Dr. Blum was a member of the NIH Expert Panel on Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Cholesterol in Adults. He subsequently was a member of the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association Task Force on Treatment of Blood Cholesterol. This task force prepared the current national guidelines for treatment of cholesterol. Dr. Blum has authored or co-authored more than 80 publications. These have largely focused on the clinical management, physiology, and biochemistry of disorders of cholesterol and triglyceride. His publications have also dealt with thyroid disease and lead exposure. Dr. Blums publications have appeared in some of the worlds most prestigious medical and scientific journals including: the New England Journal of Medicine, the Lancet, Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), and the Journal of Clinical Investigation (JCI). He served for 11 years as a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Lipid Research. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the New York affiliate of the American Heart Association. He is a member of the Endocrine Society and a Fellow of the American Heart Association. Dr. Blums teaching activities include seven years as director of the endocrinology clerkship for fourth-year medical students at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. For more than 25 years, he lectured on disorders of cholesterol and triglyceride to the second- and third-year medical school classes at Columbia. He was granted a Ewig Clinical Scholar Award 2011-2012 for outstanding teaching in the Department of Medicine, Columbia University Medical Center. The book he co-authored with Dr. Neil Stone, entitled Management of Lipids in Clinical Practice, has been used by the National Lipid Association as a companion to its curriculum. Dr. Blum was awarded the 2010 Gold DOC award by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation; this award recognizes "sensitivity, kindness, and compassion in the practice of medicine." He has been listed multiple times in the Castle Connolly annual lists of Americas top doctors and New Yorks top doctors.

Dr. Advincula is a leader in minimally invasive surgical techniques and one of the world’s most experienced gynecologic robotic surgeons. He has published and taught extensively in the area of minimally invasive surgery as well as developed surgical instruments in use worldwide. Dr. Advincula has extensive experience in treating complex and challenging cases of endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and pelvic masses. He is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. After graduating with honors from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Dr. Advincula completed both an OB/GYN residency and a minimally invasive surgery fellowship at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Afterward, he spent 10 years at the University of Michigan where he rose to the rank of Professor and Director of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Division and Fellowship as well as Endometriosis Center prior to joining Florida Hospital Celebration Health in late 2009 as Director of the Center for Specialized Gynecology. While in Florida, Dr. Advincula served as the Director of the Celebration Health Endometriosis Center and the AAGL/SRS Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery. He was also Medical Director of Gynecologic Robotics at Florida Hospital as well as Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Advincula was promoted to Education Institute Director for the Nicholson Center, an advanced medical and surgical simulation training facility. Since 2014, Dr. Advincula has held the position of Levine Family Professor, Vice-Chair of Women’s Health & Chief of Gynecology at the Sloane Hospital for Women, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, bringing more than 15 years of clinical expertise, innovation, and leadership. In addition to his departmental responsibilities, Dr. Advincula is the Medical Director of the Simulation Center for NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. He served as President of the AAGL, an 8000-member organization promoting minimally invasive surgery worldwide, from 2014 to 2016.

Dr. Meyer Kattan is Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University and Director of the Pediatric Pulmonary Division at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. He has been Principal Investigator of several National Institutes of Health (NIH)-supported projects focused on the control of asthma among inner-city minority children. He was a Principal Investigator of an NIH-sponsored project on the clinical use of a Chinese herbal remedy for asthma and a multi-center study of Pediatric Pulmonary and Cardiovascular Complications of HIV Infection sponsored by the NIH’s National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. He has served on Data and Safety Monitoring Boards for NIH-sponsored asthma trials. Prior to Columbia, Dr. Kattan served as Professor of Pediatrics, Chief of the Pediatric Pulmonary and Critical Care Division, and Director of the Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship program at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.
