Manhattan District Attorney's Office

The New York County District Attorney's Office investigates and prosecutes approximately 100,000 criminal cases annually. Its executive management division provides administrative, information technology, legal hiring, public information, and planning and management services. The office also operates a trial division that is responsible for prosecuting misdemeanor and felony street crime cases and maintains firearms trafficking, homicide investigation, identity theft and legal training units. Established in 1935, the New York County District Attorney's Office has a legal training unit that is responsible for training assistant district attorneys in legal areas. It operates a victim assistance center and counseling, notification and social services departments. The office employs more than 400 assistant district attorneys and over 600 support staff members.
