Dr. Shi is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Shi is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist and skilled in general ophthalmology. She specializes in glaucoma evaluation and treatment, including medical management, laser, and glaucoma surgery. She performs cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.Dr. Shi completed her undergraduate studies at Harvard University and her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the prestigious UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute in Los Angeles, CA, one of the highest-ranked programs in the nation. She remained there to continue her fellowship in Glaucoma. She is involved in clinical research and authored several peer-reviewed journal articles.Dr. Shi is currently accepting new patients. Dr. Grace Sun is the Director of the Ophthalmology Clinical Practice at Weill Cornell Medicine - Lower Manhattan and an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medical College and at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine.Dr. Sun graduated from Stanford University, with Honors. She later received her M.D. from Weill Medical College of Cornell University, where she was awarded the Edward Norton Prize in Ophthalmology. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Medical College of Cornell University.Dr. Sun served as president of the New York State Ophthalmological Society (NYSOS) and is President of Women in Ophthalmology (WIO). Dr. Sun has also been named one of "New York Super Doctors Rising Stars" by the New York Times Magazine and as Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area.Dr. Sun has a strong interest in global health. She served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nicaragua from 1999-2001. She serves as a volunteer faculty ophthalmologist with ORBIS International, a non-profit organization whose mission is to eliminate avoidable blindness in developing countries. She was a 2009 Paul Kayser International Scholar awardee.
