Lori A Cogan, NP

Dr. Chen is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of thoracic cancers including non-small cell lung cancer, small cell lung cancer, and mesothelioma. She received her bachelor's degree in molecular biology from Princeton University and completed her medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed both her internal medicine residency and medical oncology fellowship at Columbia University, where she served as Chief Fellow. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Chen has an interest in identifying novel therapies through clinical trials for patients with lung cancer and other tumor types. She received the Journal of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology in recognition of her work. Above all, Dr. Chen values her relationships with patients and their families and is dedicated to providing compassionate care that is tailored to each patient. She is proud to be part of a multidisciplinary team that works tirelessly to support patients and improve their survival and well-being.

M. Carmela Evangelista is an Adult Nurse Practitioner specialized in diagnosing and treating orthopedic conditions primarily focused on lower extremities. Her journey into becoming a healthcare provider, while circuitous, contributes to the personal perspective she imparts and the ambience in each of her patient encounters. She is also an Assistant Professor of Nursing in the Columbia University School of Nursing at the Columbia University Medical Center. Drawing from various mentors through the years, she endeavors to impart the wisdom lent to her as she helps train the next generation of nurses. Before joining Columbia Orthopedics, Carmela worked as an orthopedic trauma nurse in Boston, caring for a disadvantaged clientele in a Level 1 Trauma Center. She also worked in an ambulatory care short stay nurse at the Weill Cornell Campus of the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, and as an adult nurse practitioner at Fordham University’s Student Health Service.

Dr. Barbara Lock is an experienced physician, board-certified in emergency medicine. Dr. Lock has clinical work experience in caring for patients of all ages, and she has academic and administrative work experience in evidenced based medicine, pathways design, quality, and pain. Dr. Lock went to Boston University School of Medicine and completed training at the Jacobi/Montefiore combined residency in Emergency Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
