Little Bandits

History

In the summer of 2017, we launched the beginnings of Little Bandits in Prospect Park with a handful of original songs and and some shakers and tambourines. We relied on our community connections and word-of-mouth to reach new families. We've grown steadily to reach new venues and communities, and today we teach a full schedule of classes every week in neighborhoods on all sides of the park. Along the way, we produced a full-length album of original Little Bandits songs, available on CD and streaming services.

Specialties

Little Bandits is a weekly music class for toddlers in Brooklyn, New York, created and led by Jeanna Phillips and Alex Thrailkill to introduce young children to the joy of creating music together. Through songs, games, dances, collaborative noise-making, and only the tiniest amount of mischief, we teach that music is a joyous way to express yourself, build confidence, make friends, deepen family bonds, and explore the world around you. We meet for 45-minute sessions weekly in various neighborhoods around Prospect Park. Summertime classes are held in a number of shady spots inside the park. Little Bandits classes are a celebration for kids and adults of all ages, but we recommend signing up little ones between 6 months and 3 years old. Sign up for a free trial to see what we're about!
