Lehigh Valley Railroad Historical Society
The Lehigh Valley Railroad Historical Society, chartered in 1996 by the State of New York, is dedicated to preserving the history, artifacts, and memories of the Lehigh Valley and other local railroads. With a membership consisting of former LVRR employees, railfans, and scale modelers, the Society has amassed a collection of over 3,000 items, photographs, and related paperwork in their archives.
Formerly housed at the Manchester Village Hall, the Society now operates out of the historic former New York Central Railroad freight depot in Shortsville, New York. This building serves as their museum and meeting place, as well as the departure and arrival point for their passenger train excursions on the Finger Lakes Railway.
