History
Iren Shemelyak is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in the state of New York. She has a Masters Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. In addition, she is a nationally board certified Diplomate in Oriental Medicine with a National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Iren received additional advanced training in Fukushin Clinic of Traditional Chinese Medicine where she focused her studies on acupuncture, tui na, and the herbal treatments for weight management and related diseases. Iren has completed an Acupuncture 1, 2, 3 by Dr. Tan. As well as continued education seminars on trigger point acupuncture treatment and kinesiology therapy. Her entire career has been spent working within the healthcare system. Her knowledge of Western science and medicine coupled with training in Traditional Chinese Medicine allows her to clearly see the strengths and weaknesses of both systems.
