History

Just for Kicks was opened by Master Robert Blum and his father in 1996 - after 10 years Master Blum took over the family business and has worked unbelievably hard to transform just a martial arts school into the areas leading facility for martial arts instruction and life skills. Just for Kicks has also won the prestigious Century Gold award the last 5 years. This award is given to the top 100 schools in the country!

Just For Kicks Martial Arts is the leader in kids karate instruction and character development in the Hudson Valley. We serve the Fishkill, Beacon, Newburgh, Cold Spring, Wappingers Falls & Hopewell Junction area of the Hudson Valley. We at Just For Kicks are devoted to developing our students into strong and confident leaders, as well as solid martial artists. Our childrens martial arts program accomplishes this through our character development program. In a teaching system based on mutual respect, classes focus not only on physical activity, but also on the life skills necessary to be a successful, productive member of society. We are so dedicated to helping your child grow into a leader, that we have a renowned child development expert & multiple parenting book author, Dave Kovar, developing our life skills curriculum Just For Kicks Martial Arts has had the honor of being recognized with the prestigious Century Gold Award. This award is only given to the Top 100 Martial Arts Schools in the country each year by Century Martial Arts Supply. This award recognizes excellence in teaching children, teens and adults martial arts and character lessons. Just For Kicks has won this award every year since 2007. Just For Kicks has also been rated in the top 1% of martial arts schools nationwide by (NAPMA) the National Association of Professional Martial Artists since 2009.
