He went on to complete his internship and residency training in general surgery at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York.To further his expertise, Dr. Garbus finished a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida. Dr. Garbus is currently double board-certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He's also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a fellow of the American Society of Colorectal Surgeons.Dr. Garbus holds academic faculty appointments at the State University of New York Stony Brook Medicine and the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in Hempstead, New York. He stays actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
