Judd Falls Wines & Spirits has been a long-standing fixture in the Ithaca business community. Morrie was an entrepreneur from the word go. After having many businesses in the area, including the well known bar "Morries" in collegetown, he decided to open Judd Falls Wines & Spirits. Morrie continued to operate the store until his death in December of 2000. Jean has continued the great tradition of her late husband by offering quality and service at a great price. Morrie was a remarkable man. He always had a sense of what was going on like the time when the store had just began inventory. Morrie walked through the store and announced what we had and when we finished counting, we discovered that he was within 1% of the final numbers. He never did reveal just how he had done that. A person's story isn't always written on their shirtsleeve; it takes time to understand what they are about. Those that truly knew Morrie realized that he was a sour coated sugar pill, a little rough on the outside with a heart of gold inside. He was a lovable curmudgeon. His strong will enabled him to lead a great and productive life. The treasured things he passed along to those around him will not be forgotten, but reveled in. He will always be greatly missed.
