David MatuszMD is a fellowship trained spine surgeon who studied with experts in the treatment of complex disorders of the spine at Johns Hopkins, Lenox Hill Hospital, Boston Childrens and with Jurgem Harms at the Linikum Karlsbad-Langensteinbach in Germany.Dr. Matusz has published and presented at both national and international meetings on treatment of disorders of the spine. His practice is dedicated to the care of pediatric and adult patients with spinal disorders.Dr. Matusz was born in upstate New York, graduated from Cornell and received his MD from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital and his fellowship in spine surgery at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore. I believe in treating my patients as whole human beings, not just as body parts or injuries. I always do my best to listen to my patients and tailor my treatments appropriately according to their own prior experiences and personal preferences. I take time during each visit to explain the findings in x-rays and other tests, and make those findings relatable to symptoms and treatment. Although I m a surgeon, I do my best in every case to try appropriate non-surgical treatments first, and reserve surgery as a last resort. My goal is to keep my patients healthy, active, and pain-free with the smallest amount of medication and surgery as possible.My primary specialization is in the treatment of arthritis and other degenerative or traumatic conditions of the hip and knee. If surgery is required, I use the latest technologies including surgical x-ray and robotics to perform partial and total hip and knee replacements with the highest degree of accuracy and predictability. I also treat general orthopaedic conditions such as fractures, dislocations, tendon injuries, and joint inflammation. I believe in treating patients equally and accept nearly all insurance plans.In addition to my clinical practice, I have an interest in research and am actively enrolling patients in trials with the goal of finding more effective medications and surgical technology to benefit future generations. My orthopaedic research articles and review chapters have been accepted into prestigious publications such as the Journal of Arthroplasty and the Orthopaedic Knowledge Update. I work with a team of residents and fellows and oversee their clinical education in the office, hospital wards, and the operating room.

Dr. Elliott Hershman is a noted Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in Sports Medicine, particularly focusing on knee injuries such as Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tears, meniscus issues and patellofemoral disorders. His surgical expertise includes advanced arthroscopic surgery techniques for ACL injuries, patella instability, articular cartilage disorders and meniscus tears.As part of his Sports Medicine activities, he is the Team Orthopaedic Surgeon for the NY Jets and has served in the same role for the NY Islanders and the Hunter College Athletic Program.Dr. Hershman is committed to advancing the care of athletes through research and is a member of the internationally recognized MARS (Multicenter ACL Revision Surgery) group of researchers, studying and publishing the outcomes of ACL revision surgery, and in particular the nature of recurrent ACL issues.He is the James A. Nicholas Chairman of Orthopaedic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital and is the Vice-President for the Western Region of the Orthopaedic Service Line for Northwell Health. In addition he is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.Dr. Hershman has been recognized annually in America's Top Doctors since 2004 and has been a NY Magazine Top Doctor since 2002. He has been listed in the NY Times Super Doctors for the past 10 years. With his colleagues in the MARS group of researchers, Dr. Hershman received the O'Donoghue Sports Injury Research award from the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine for the paper entitled "Revision Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction Graft Choice Impact on Outcome in the MARS Cohort".
