James Kim, MD is a member of Summit Healths Gastroenterology team. Dr. Kim practices general gastroenterology, with a special interest in cancer prevention, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and esophageal diseases. Dr. Kim takes a collaborative approach to care, building trust and confidence through open communication and shared decision-making. My primary goals for any visit are for patients to feel heard, comfortable, and confident in any treatment plan, he says. In addition to forging relationships, he enjoys thinking critically about gastroenterological conditions and performing procedures that can offer efficient diagnoses and therapies. Dr. Kims research has appeared in multiple peer-reviewed articles, and he has presented original research at national meetings. As a trained musician, Dr. Kim enjoys playing and listening to music in his free time, as well as traveling, cooking, running, watching sports, and spending time with his family.
