John F Romanelli, MD

A life-long New Yorker, Dr. Mukesh Kumar has done all his schooling and medical training in the New York Metropolitan area. As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, he aims to give back to the community that has given him so much. His philosophy is to teach and involve the patient in their journey to improve and maintain their vision. His other interests include traveling, hiking, and virtual reality.

Alyssa Tursi, OD is a licensed optometrist committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive eye care. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island before obtaining her Doctor of Optometry from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry. Dr. Tursi then went on to complete a residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System. Dr. Tursi is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She has been practicing in New York State since 2020. Her clinical expertise includes managing ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts and anterior segment conditions, along with providing routine and preventative eye care. Guided by the philosophy that every patient deserves access to high-quality, personalized eye care, Dr. Tursi believes in treating the whole patient—not just the symptoms. She is especially passionate about community service and global outreach. During her time in optometry school, she was an active member of Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH), participating in mission work that provided eye care to over 1,200 underserved individuals in Grenada. She also volunteered at the Special Olympics of New Jersey, offering vision screenings and care to more than 400 athletes. Outside the clinic, Dr. Tursi enjoys traveling, hiking, playing club volleyball, and experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes. She brings energy, empathy, and dedication to every patient encounter and is proud to be making a difference in the lives of those she serves.

Dr. Ketan Laud earned his medical degree and completed his ophthalmology residency at New York Medical College. He further refined his expertise through two prestigious fellowships in Retina/Vitreous Surgery at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine and Columbia University/VRMNY, where he was mentored by renowned leaders in the field, Drs. Stanley Chang and Lawrence Yannuzzi. With over a decade of experience, Dr. Laud is dedicated to serving patients both locally on Long Island and out of state. He provides an individualized treatment approach, collaborating closely with his patients to achieve optimal visual outcomes in a comfortable and welcoming environment. Dr. Laud is passionate about offering the most innovative therapies to his patients. He regularly serves as a principal investigator for national clinical trials and has published numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles. This involvement allows his patients access to cutting-edge treatments and a higher level of expertise in their application. As a faculty member in the Department of Ophthalmology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Laud trains residents and fellows. He also serves as an educator and lecturer at regional, national, and international retinal meetings, sharing his insights on emerging therapies and research trials. Recognized for his commitment to excellence, Dr. Laud has been honored annually as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly and New York Magazine, and he has been featured in Newsday’s Top Doctors.
